Birth defect (Syndactyly)

Some congenital defects, as in the case of Syndactyly, can be successfully resolved by surgery, especially when the patients are young.

Syndactyly is a condition in which two or more digits are fused together. It appears in both hands and feet. Most doctors recommend performing surgery to solve this within the first year of age, in order the avoid the further complications that occur with growth.

The complexity and duration of the procedure depends on the severity of the fusion; most cases of Syndactyly tend to be fairly simple.
