One of the procedures that usually goes hand in hand with Labiaplasty, or the reduction of the inner and outer labia, is clitoral unhooding. This is done in the case where the clitoral prepuce (or clitoral hood) is too thick or the folds of the skin are excessive and interfere with the woman’s sexual response. Some women may experience no problem at all, but do not like the appearance of it.
The procedure is relatively simple, and consists mainly of taking the excess skin off and then suturing the clitoral hood down to the pubic bone; uncovering the clitoris will have the consequence of further tightening the labia minora.
